Frequently Asked Questions

Presenter SE VP4300

Why isn't my Presenter working the first time I plug it in?

    pres prog

RemotePoint Presenter ships with the receiver ready to accept the first signal it hears. Once it hears the first signal, it ignores interference from all other 900 MHz devices. This causes the receiver to ignore your Presenter remote. To solve this problem you must program your receiver.

To program the receiver:

1. Plug the receiver into a USB port and wait for the green light on the receiver to blink slowly.

2. On the RemotePoint Presenter Remote, press the laser button and shine the laser beam in to the receiver's starburst icon until the green LED stays on solid. You must keep the beam perpendicular to the receiver and about 8" away. The programming may take from 30 to 120 seconds. You may need to steady the remote while programming.

3. When the green light glows steadily the receiver is programmed to the unique address of the RemotePoint Presenter Remote. After address is established, the LED will return to blinking green. The blinking rate will increase when a button is touched on the remote and the receiver is programmed to the remote.

The RemotePoint Presenter has a flash drive. Do I still need a PC to run my presentation, or can I just plug the receiver into the projector?     pc needed

The Presenter's flash drive replaces the need for a floppy disk or CD to transport your presentation. You will still need a PC to run the PowerPoint application. You can store your presentation on the drive and then plug it into any PC with PowerPoint loaded. If the target PC does not have PowerPoint, you can save the presentation as a pack and go file. This will require the reader to be loaded also. If you need detailed instruction on how to do that please see the pack and go FAQ.

How do I "pack and go" my presentation?

Pack and go means that you can take your presentation to a PC that does not have Microsoft PowerPoint loaded and still do a presentation with the slides developed in PowerPoint. Please visit the Microsoft link below for details.

Presenter SE Sleep Mode     VP4300 sleep

The remote will go into sleep mode immediately after the last key press. Waking from full sleep will take less than 50ms. Sleep current will range between 30uA and 50uA because the watchdog will wake up every second to check for any new button press even after a button timeout shutdown. Sleep current while in accidental shutdown mode will vary from 60uA to 120uA depending on function shutdown. The sleep current is dependant on both the processor and the RF chip sleep modes.

Accidental shutdown is activated when:
a. Keypad is a burst mode transmission lasting 200ms so shutdown is activated 10 seconds after transmission.
b. Laser shutdown is activated at 120 seconds of continual operation.
c. Mouse and Mouse Click button shutdown is activated at 60 seconds.
