Frequently Asked Questions
VersaPoint Keyboard / RF Combo
| |
Will My VersaPoint Keyboard or Combo work with Windows NT 4.0 bsquare |
The RemotePoint Rf Combo, Rf Keyboard and the VersaPoint Communicator work with USB only. Windows NT does not support USB. There is however, a company that supplies a driver for USB port for NT. Your computer must have a USB port physically in the computer. The company is called BSQUARE.COM. You can buy this directly from them at
http://www.bsquare.com/products/usbwin40/ .
This will allow you to use the keyboard and remote. The remote will only work as a 2 button mouse. We do not make software to operate the programmable buttons on the remote for Windows NT. But you will still be able to operate PowerPoint and other presentation programs that use left and right mouse clicks to advance and reverse slides.

I plugged in my VersaPoint RF receiver for my keyboard or combo, but the windows 98 is asking for a driver. Where do I get the driver? 98 keyboard driver |
The VersaPoint RF keyboard or Combo uses Windows standard USB HID drivers. Please print the attached instructions. |

Can a PS/2 port be used with your keyboard or do you make a PS/2 keyboard? PS/2 keyboard |
No. Our keyboard is USB only. An adapter will not work because the keyboard does not have the internal electronics required to use the PS/2 port. |
|
What kind of security do you have to prevent eavesdroppers from intercepting the signals?
|
The RF signals from the keyboards to the Receivers are encoded in an Interlink proprietary protocol, so that you can only receive the data if you are using an Interlink receiver. It is however possible for two separate Interlink RF Receivers to pickup the signal sent by a single Keyboard transmitting in the vicinity if their addresses match. The user can select from eight possible addresses to prevent this crosstalk.

First, check your BIOS set up and reset it so Num Lock is disabled. If you've already done this and NumLock still turns on automatically, you will need you go to your Windows Registry and change the setting in:

I'm used to moving my trackball slow mouse |
The VersaPoint RF Keyboard is designed to be used in a presentation environment. The mouse is designed so that you can use it even when holding the keyboard in your hands. The mouse will never be like a desktop mouse or track ball. All you can do is speed up the mouse action in the mouse properties. |
